French Creme Brulee Toast

Golden, custard-soaked French toast with a caramelized sugar crust — a breakfast that feels like dessert.

This French Crème Brûlée Toast is a dreamy fusion of French toast and crème brûlée. It’s soft and custardy in the center, crispy on the edges, and finished with a crackly layer of caramelized sugar on top. Serve it for a special weekend breakfast, brunch with friends, or just because — your family will love it.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 2–3):

  • 4 slices of brioche or challah bread
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk or cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar (plus extra for caramelizing)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp butter (for pan)
  • Optional toppings: berries, powdered sugar, whipped cream

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the custard, letting it soak for 15–30 seconds per side.
  3. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
  4. Cook soaked bread slices for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Place finished toast on a baking sheet. Sprinkle 1–2 teaspoons of sugar over each slice.
  6. Use a kitchen torch (or broiler for ~1 min) to caramelize the tops until golden and crackly.
  7. Serve warm with fresh berries or whipped cream.

🧁 Tips:
