Quick & Easy Homemade Butter Chicken

This homemade butter chicken is everything you want in a cozy dinner: tender chunks of chicken simmered in a rich, creamy tomato sauce with warm spices. It’s quick enough for a busy weekday and comforting enough for the weekend. Serve it with rice or naan for a kid-friendly meal that everyone loves.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4):
- 500g (1 lb) boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cubed
- 2 tbsp plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp oil or butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp chili powder
- 1 cup tomato puree
- ½ cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish

- Marinate the chicken in yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, paprika, and turmeric for 15–30 mins.
- Heat oil or butter in a pan. Add onions, cook until soft. Stir in garlic, ginger, cumin, and chili powder.
- Add marinated chicken and cook until browned.
- Pour in tomato puree. Simmer for 10 minutes until chicken is fully cooked.
- Stir in cream, adjust salt, and simmer for 5 more minutes.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or naan.
