Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 small yellow onion diced
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1-2 tsp honey

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Wooden spoon
  • Cutting board
  • Chef’s knife

Method
 

  1. Heat skillet over medium heat and sauté onion and bell pepper until softened.
  2. Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  3. Add ground turkey and cook until browned and fully cooked.
  4. Stir in remaining sauce ingredients and simmer until thickened.
  5. Serve on toasted whole wheat buns and garnish as desired.

Notes

For lower carb, serve in lettuce wraps. Adjust sweetness to taste.
