Crispy air fryer pastry bombs filled with warm cinnamon apple filling and coated in sweet cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients
  

Apple Filling
  • 1.5 cups apples peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp nutmeg optional
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Bomb Dough
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
Optional Garnish
  • powdered sugar
  • caramel sauce for dipping

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Skillet
  • Pastry brush

Method
 

  1. Cook diced apples, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a skillet until softened and syrupy.
  2. Stir in vanilla extract and allow the filling to cool slightly.
  3. Flatten biscuit dough pieces into small circles.
  4. Add one tablespoon of apple filling to the center of each dough circle.
  5. Wrap dough around the filling and seal tightly to form balls.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 350°F.
  7. Place bombs seam-side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 8–10 minutes until golden.
  8. Brush warm bombs with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Serve warm with optional powdered sugar and caramel sauce.

Notes

Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for best results. Seal dough well to prevent leaks.
