- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, adding milk to form dough.
- Fold in sliced almonds if using.
- Shape dough into balls, roll in sugar, and flatten slightly.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire rack.
Notes
For extra flavor, sprinkle sliced almonds on top before baking. Dough can be chilled if sticky.
