Ingredients
  

Cookie Batter
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 0.5 cup sliced almonds optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, adding milk to form dough.
  6. Fold in sliced almonds if using.
  7. Shape dough into balls, roll in sugar, and flatten slightly.
  8. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire rack.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle sliced almonds on top before baking. Dough can be chilled if sticky.
