Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 1 loaf French bread or brioche cubed
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened and cubed
  • 6 eggs large
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Butter a large baking dish and add cubed bread.
  2. Top bread with sliced strawberries and cream cheese cubes.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Pour custard evenly over bread and press gently.
  5. Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake uncovered 40–45 minutes until golden and set.
  8. Cool slightly and serve warm.
