Ingredients
  

Beef & Marinade
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch for tenderizing
Vegetables
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 small carrot thinly sliced, optional
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger minced
Sauce
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch to thicken
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • pinch red pepper flakes optional
Garnish
  • sesame seeds
  • green onions, sliced

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok

Method
 

  1. Marinate sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Prep broccoli, carrot, garlic, and ginger.
  3. Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2–3 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  4. Heat skillet or wok over medium-high heat, stir-fry beef for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds, then add sauce ingredients and bring to simmer.
  6. Add beef, broccoli, and carrot to the sauce. Toss 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens and beef is fully cooked.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions over rice or noodles.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to keep beef tender and broccoli crisp.
