A classic homemade boba milk tea made with strong black tea, creamy milk, and chewy tapioca pearls.

Ingredients
  

Tapioca Pearls
  • 0.5 cup black tapioca pearls
  • 8 cups water for boiling
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar for syrup
Milk Tea
  • 2 tsp black tea leaves
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup milk any kind
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Strainer
  • Measuring cups
  • Tall glasses

Method
 

  1. Bring water to a boil and cook tapioca pearls until soft and chewy.
  2. Drain pearls and coat with brown sugar syrup. Set aside.
  3. Brew strong black tea and let cool slightly.
  4. Add tapioca pearls to glasses followed by ice.
  5. Pour tea over ice, add milk and sweeten to taste.
  6. Stir well and serve immediately with a boba straw.

Notes

Use freshly cooked pearls for best texture. Adjust sweetness and milk to preference.
