Ingredients
  

Bread Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk
  • 1.5 cups apples peeled and diced
Cinnamon Swirl
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
Caramel Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp caramel sauce
  • 2 tbsp milk as needed

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk until combined.
  5. Fold in apples.
  6. Layer half batter, half cinnamon mixture, then repeat. Swirl gently.
  7. Bake 55–65 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  8. Cool completely, then drizzle with caramel glaze.

Notes

For best texture, use tart apples and don’t overmix. Serve warm with extra caramel drizzle.
