- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Place chicken thighs skin-side down and cook for 6–7 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the chicken, reduce heat to medium, and cook another 6–7 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce with brown sugar until well combined.
- Brush the BBQ mixture over the chicken and continue cooking, flipping occasionally, until caramelized and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), about 5–6 minutes.
- Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in BBQ sauce for 1–2 hours before cooking.
