Ingredients
  

Cabbage
  • 1 green cabbage cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Sticky Soy Glaze
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
Garnish
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds toasted
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 tsp chili flakes optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Cut cabbage into wedges and place on a baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. Roast for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway until charred and tender.
  5. In a saucepan combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the saucepan.
  7. Cook until the glaze thickens and becomes glossy.
  8. Brush glaze over roasted cabbage and bake 5 minutes more.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, and chili flakes before serving.

Notes

For extra smoky flavor, sear cabbage wedges in a cast iron skillet before roasting.
