Ingredients

Dough & Filling
  • 1 lb pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
Garlic Butter
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp Italian seasoning optional
Topping
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Pastry brush
  • Rolling Pin

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out pizza dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick and cut into 12 strips.
  3. Place shredded mozzarella in the center of each strip, fold over, and seal edges.
  4. Tie each strip into a loose knot and place on the baking sheet.
  5. Mix butter, olive oil, garlic, parsley, salt, and seasoning; brush over knots.
  6. Bake 14–16 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Brush with more garlic butter and sprinkle Parmesan on top.
  8. Serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

Seal the dough well to prevent cheese leaks. For extra flavor, brush with butter twice — before and after baking.
