- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Melt butter in a skillet and cook sliced onions until deeply caramelized.
- Add garlic and thyme and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in rice, broth, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Transfer mixture to baking dish, cover with foil, and bake 30–35 minutes.
- Remove foil, add cheeses on top, and bake another 10–15 minutes until melted.
- Broil briefly for golden top if desired, garnish with parsley, and serve.
Notes
Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian version. Brown rice requires longer cooking time and extra liquid.
