Ingredients
  

Cookie Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon optional
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Filling
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup milk chocolate chips optional

  • Baking sheet or pan (8x8)

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture gently.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  7. Spread batter into pan and top with remaining chocolate chips.
  8. Bake 28–32 minutes until golden and set.
  9. Cool completely before slicing into bars.

Notes

Best made with very ripe bananas for maximum flavor and chewiness.
