Ingredients
  

Cookie Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup dried cherries chopped if large
  • 2 tbsp milk if needed

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until dough forms.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and cherries.
  6. Scoop dough onto baking sheets.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges set and centers soft.
  8. Cool on rack before serving.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill dough 30 minutes before baking.
