Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl until mostly smooth.
- Add melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar; whisk until combined.
- Mix in egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips, reserving a few for topping.
- Spread batter evenly in prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
