Ingredients
  

Banana Bread Batter
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon optional
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 bananas ripe, mashed
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in mashed bananas until combined.
  6. Gradually stir in dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Gently fold in chocolate chips, reserving a few for the top.
  8. Pour batter into prepared pan, smooth the top, sprinkle remaining chips, and bake for 55–65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack. Slice and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a handful of chopped nuts or a swirl of peanut butter before baking.
