Ingredients
  

Brownie Batter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 oz dark chocolate chopped
  • 1.25 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
Mascarpone Layer
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese softened
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and dark chocolate together until smooth and glossy.
  3. Whisk sugar into the chocolate mixture, then add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. In another bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  7. Spread most of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Spoon mascarpone mixture over the brownie batter, then top with remaining brownie batter.
  9. Swirl gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  10. Bake for 32–38 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
  11. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra fudgy brownies, avoid overbaking and chill before slicing for clean squares.
