- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and dark chocolate together until smooth and glossy.
- Whisk sugar into the chocolate mixture, then add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Fold dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- In another bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until creamy.
- Spread most of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
- Spoon mascarpone mixture over the brownie batter, then top with remaining brownie batter.
- Swirl gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 32–38 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra fudgy brownies, avoid overbaking and chill before slicing for clean squares.
