  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 orange zest zest of 1 orange
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch salt

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and zest the orange.
  2. In a medium saucepan, mix oats, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Pour in milk and stir to combine evenly.
  4. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until oats are soft and creamy, about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and orange zest.
  6. Spoon into bowls and top with optional toppings like orange slices or chocolate shavings.

Notes

Serve immediately for best flavor and texture. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
