Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly until bubbly and golden.
- Pour hot toffee over crackers, spreading evenly. Bake for 5 minutes until caramel is bubbling.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 2 minutes, then spread smoothly with a spatula.
- Top with sprinkles, nuts, or candy canes. Cool completely, then refrigerate 1 hour to set. Break into pieces and enjoy.
