Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes for topping
  • 1/4 cup melted white chocolate optional, for drizzle

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk melted butter with sugars in a large bowl until combined.
  3. Beat in eggs, then vanilla and peppermint extract.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Spread batter into pan and bake for 30–35 minutes.
  7. Top with crushed candy canes while warm.
  8. Drizzle with melted white chocolate.
  9. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For a softer crunch, add candy canes right before serving. These brownies store well in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
