Ingredients
  

Bread Batter
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp almond extract optional
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 0.5 cup holiday sprinkles
Vanilla Glaze
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • extra holiday sprinkles for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and almond extract.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk until a smooth batter forms.
  6. Fold in holiday sprinkles gently using a spatula.
  7. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool bread in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Drizzle glaze over cooled bread and top with extra holiday sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Use jimmies-style sprinkles for best color retention during baking. Store in an airtight container for freshness.
