Ingredients
  

Apple Filling
  • 6 cups apples peeled and sliced
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Mix apples with sugars, lemon juice, spices, and cornstarch.
  3. Spread apple mixture into baking dish.
  4. Combine flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle topping over apples.
  7. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.

Use a mix of apple varieties for best flavor and texture.
