Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh basil optional garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pound chicken breasts to even thickness and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian herbs.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown chicken 2–3 minutes per side.
  5. Place chicken in a baking dish, spoon marinara sauce on top, then sprinkle with mozzarella.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil and serve.

Notes

Optional: serve with spaghetti or garlic bread for a complete meal.
