Ingredients
  

Stuffing Base
  • 12 cups dried bread cubes
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 onions diced
  • 4 celery stalks diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh sage chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 4 cups broth chicken or vegetable, warmed
  • 2 eggs beaten
Optional Add-Ins
  • 1 lb sausage browned, optional
  • 1 apple diced, optional
  • 0.5 cup walnuts optional

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large baking dish.
  2. Spread bread cubes onto baking sheets and lightly toast for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Sauté onions and celery in butter until softened, then add garlic.
  4. Stir in herbs, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour mixture over dried bread cubes and combine.
  6. Add warm broth gradually until bread is moistened. Stir in beaten eggs.
  7. Transfer stuffing to baking dish, dot with butter, and bake uncovered for 40–50 minutes.
  8. Serve warm as part of your holiday dinner.

Notes

Use homemade or store-bought broth. For crispier stuffing, bake slightly longer.
