Ingredients
  

Burger Patties
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil optional
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.75 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp brown sugar optional
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
For Serving
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices cheese
  • 1 cup lettuce
  • 1 large tomato sliced
  • 0.5 cup red onion sliced
  • 0.5 cup pickles
  • condiments of choice

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Combine seasoning ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Place ground beef in a bowl, add Worcestershire sauce and seasoning, and gently mix.
  3. Divide into 4 patties and create a thumb indentation in the center.
  4. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until desired doneness.
  6. Add cheese during the final minute if desired.
  7. Toast buns lightly.
  8. Assemble burgers with toppings and serve.

Notes

Use 80/20 beef for best juiciness and avoid pressing patties during cooking.
