- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with olive oil or butter.
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook gnocchi until they float to the surface, about 2–3 minutes. Drain well.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Whisk in parmesan until sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place cooked gnocchi in the prepared baking dish. Pour cream sauce over and stir gently to coat. Sprinkle mozzarella on top.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or spinach before baking. Pairs beautifully with a crisp green salad.
