Creamy Garlic Herb Skillet Cod

Ingredients
  

Fish
  • 4 cod fillets about 6 oz each
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Cream Sauce
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth or seafood broth
  • 0.25 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp thyme fresh
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder

Method
 

  1. Pat cod fillets dry and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and onion powder.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear cod fillets 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden, then remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the skillet.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  6. Pour in broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  7. Add parmesan cheese, lemon juice, lemon zest, thyme, and parsley.
  8. Return cod to the skillet and simmer 5–6 minutes until cooked through.
  9. Garnish with additional parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Serve over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes to soak up the creamy garlic sauce.
