  • 1 lb cheese tortellini fresh or refrigerated
  • 1 lb Italian sausage mild or spicy
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1.5 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional

Method
 

  1. Brown the sausage in a skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add butter and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring well.
  4. Add tortellini, black pepper, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Cover and simmer 7–8 minutes until tortellini is tender.
  6. Stir in broccoli and cook an additional 3–4 minutes.
  7. Stir in Parmesan cheese until sauce is creamy and smooth.
  8. Adjust seasonings and serve warm with fresh herbs.

Notes

Use fresh Parmesan for the smoothest sauce. Add extra broth if sauce becomes too thick.
