Pasta
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 preferred
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 14 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown ground beef in olive oil over medium-high heat, breaking it apart.
  3. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant and softened.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and seasonings, coating the beef evenly.
  5. Pour in crushed tomatoes and beef broth, then simmer for 8–10 minutes.
  6. Lower heat and stir in cream and butter until smooth and creamy.
  7. Add cooked pasta and Parmesan, tossing until fully combined.
  8. Serve hot with fresh parsley garnish.

Notes

For extra creaminess, add reserved pasta water. For spice, include red pepper flakes.
