Ingredients
  

Tofu Tenders
  • 1 block extra-firm tofu pressed and drained
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour or chickpea flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 0.5 cup plant-based milk
Honey Mustard Sauce
  • 0.25 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup or agave
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Press tofu to remove moisture and cut into tender-sized strips.
  3. Set up three bowls: flour with spices, milk mixed with cornstarch, and panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Coat tofu strips in flour, then milk mixture, then breadcrumbs.
  5. Place on baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. Whisk all honey mustard sauce ingredients until smooth.
  7. Brush baked tofu with sauce and bake 5–7 more minutes until caramelized.
  8. Serve hot with extra dipping sauce.

Notes

Best served fresh for maximum crispiness. Reheat in oven or air fryer.
