Ingredients
  

Hot Chocolate Base
  • 6 cups whole milk or milk of choice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract pure
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon optional

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk

Method
 

  1. Lightly spray the inside of a 4–6 quart crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Pour milk and heavy cream into the crockpot and whisk in dry ingredients.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips or chopped chocolate.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
  6. Once smooth and creamy, stir in vanilla extract and adjust sweetness if desired.
  7. Ladle into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings.

Notes

Use quality chocolate for best results. Can be customized with peppermint, caramel, or coffee flavors.
