Ingredients
  

Cake Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
Lava Sauce
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup cocoa powder
  • 1.75 cups hot water

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Crockpot
  • Whisk
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Grease crockpot.
  2. Mix dry ingredients.
  3. Add wet ingredients and combine.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Spread batter in crockpot.
  6. Sprinkle topping mixture.
  7. Pour hot water over without stirring.
  8. Cook on HIGH 2-2.5 hours.
  9. Rest before serving.

Notes

Do not stir layers to achieve lava texture.
