Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C) and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack on top.
- Pat chicken drumsticks dry and place in a large bowl.
- Add olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
- Arrange drumsticks on the rack in a single layer.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
- Mix barbecue sauce with brown sugar if using.
- Brush drumsticks with BBQ sauce and bake 15 minutes.
- Flip, brush again, and bake another 10–15 minutes until cooked through.
Notes
For extra char, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
