Method
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Add cubed bread to the dish and evenly scatter berries on top.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugars, maple syrup, butter, vanilla, spices, and salt.
- Pour custard evenly over bread and gently press to soak.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes until golden and set.
- Cool slightly and serve with powdered sugar and syrup.
Notes
Can be made overnight and baked fresh in the morning.
