Ingredients
  

Sausage Gravy
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage pork or turkey
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.33 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp salt to taste
Casserole
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough cut into quarters
  • 8 eggs large
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded, optional
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, cook sausage until browned. Add butter and flour, stir until combined.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of biscuit pieces in the dish, pour half of the gravy, sprinkle cheese if using, then repeat layers.
  5. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together, and pour evenly over the top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until golden and set. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Make ahead and refrigerate overnight for an easy morning bake. Great for holidays or brunches.
