Bread Pudding Base
  • 4 cups day-old bread cubed
  • 3 eggs large
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
Mix-Ins
  • 0.75 cup chocolate toffee bits
  • 0.75 cup pecans chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a pie dish.
  2. Place cubed bread evenly into the prepared dish.
  3. Sprinkle chocolate toffee bits and chopped pecans over the bread.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, butter, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  5. Pour custard mixture evenly over the bread and let soak 10–15 minutes.
  6. Bake for 45–50 minutes until set and golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for best flavor.
