Easy Cheddar Cheese Bread

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder optional
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives chopped, optional

  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Stir in shredded cheddar and chives until coated.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, and melted butter in another bowl.
  5. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients, stir until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into loaf pan, sprinkle extra cheddar on top.
  7. Bake 45–50 minutes until golden and toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to wire rack.
  9. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For variation, add jalapeños, bacon bits, or mixed herbs. Store at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate up to 5 days.
