- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
- Combine cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla in a medium bowl. Pour into prepared dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla; stir until smooth.
- Pour topping over cherries and spread gently to cover some of the filling.
- Bake 35–40 minutes until topping is golden and cherries are bubbling. Cool 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Perfect for dessert, brunch, or gatherings. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
