Ingredients
  

Pie Base
  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust store-bought or homemade
Brownie Filling
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the unbaked crust in a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Sift in cocoa, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the pie crust and spread evenly.
  6. Bake 35–40 minutes until edges are firm and center is slightly soft.
  7. Cool for 20 minutes before serving warm with ice cream.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add espresso powder or swirl in caramel before baking.
