Cookie Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring gel preferred
  • 1 cup white chocolate hearts plus extra for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk, vanilla, and food coloring.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  5. Fold in white chocolate hearts gently.
  6. Scoop dough onto baking sheets and bake 10–12 minutes.
  7. Press additional white chocolate hearts into warm cookies and cool completely.

Notes

Do not overbake for best texture. Cookies will firm up as they cool.
