  • 1 cup all-purpose flour heat-treated
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.33 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp milk plus more if needed
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cup walnuts or pecans optional

Method
 

  1. Heat-treat flour by baking at 350°F for 5 minutes, then cool completely.
  2. Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in vanilla extract and milk.
  4. Add flour, cocoa powder, and salt, mixing until smooth.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts.
  6. Adjust texture with extra milk if needed.
  7. Serve immediately or chill before serving.
