Ingredients
  

French Toast
  • 8 slices brioche or challah bread thick-cut
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 cup milk whole or half-and-half
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp butter for frying
Toppings and Sides
  • fresh berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
  • maple syrup
  • whipped cream
  • powdered sugar for dusting
  • bacon or sausage optional

Method
 

  1. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt in a medium bowl until smooth.
  2. Dip bread slices into mixture, coating both sides.
  3. Cook each slice in a buttered skillet over medium heat until golden brown, 2–3 minutes per side.
  4. Keep finished toast warm in a 200°F oven while cooking remaining slices.
  5. Arrange French toast on a serving board with toppings and sides.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle syrup, and serve immediately.

Notes

Try adding pumpkin spice or swapping brioche for sourdough for a fun twist.
