  • 4 slices thick-cut bread sourdough or Italian
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs optional
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

  • Skillet or nonstick pan
  • Spatula
  • Mixing bowl

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, salt, and optional Italian herbs.
  2. Spread garlic butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place two slices butter-side down, layer with mozzarella and Parmesan, and top with remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
  4. Heat skillet over medium-low heat and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Place sandwiches in skillet and cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from skillet, slice diagonally, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust cheese types or add extra ingredients for variety. Cook slowly to avoid burning.
