  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice optional

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet

Method

  1. Remove pork chops from the refrigerator 20 minutes before cooking and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Mix salt, pepper, smoked paprika, thyme, and onion powder in a small bowl.
  3. Rub seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the pork chops.
  4. Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Place pork chops in the hot skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes without moving.
  6. Flip pork chops and cook another 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet and reduce heat to medium.
  8. Spoon melted garlic butter over the pork chops while they finish cooking.
  9. Cook until internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  10. Remove from skillet, garnish with parsley and lemon juice, rest 5 minutes, and serve.

Notes

Use thick pork chops for best results and avoid overcooking to maintain juiciness.
