Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.75 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 0.5 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • pinch nutmeg optional
  • 1 tbsp parsley or basil chopped, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  4. Slowly add heavy cream and milk, whisking constantly until smooth.
  5. Simmer until thickened, about 3–5 minutes.
  6. Add parmesan, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir until cheese melts.
  7. Adjust seasoning, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

Use freshly grated parmesan for best texture and flavor.
