Method
- Rinse basmati rice until water runs clear.
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Sauté onion until soft, then add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in turmeric and toast briefly.
- Add rice and mix well to coat grains.
- Pour in broth, salt, and pepper; bring to boil.
- Cover and simmer on low for 15–18 minutes.
- Rest for 5 minutes, fluff, garnish, and serve.
Notes
For extra flavor, add lemon juice or coconut milk. Do not stir while simmering.
