- Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs mostly clear. Drain well.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and sauté until softened and translucent.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
- Add turmeric, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine evenly.
- Add the rinsed rice and toast lightly for 1–2 minutes.
- Pour in the broth and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes until rice is tender.
- Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- Garnish with parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
For extra flavor, use homemade broth and finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
