Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.33 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Prepare and freeze cream cheese filling portions.
  2. Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugars, then add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients to form dough.
  5. Stuff dough with frozen filling and shape into balls.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
  7. Cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

Freeze filling well and avoid overbaking for best gooey center.
