Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1.25 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
Cream Cheese Swirl
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • orange gel food coloring to desired shade

Method
 

  1. Whisk melted butter with both sugars until smooth and glossy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  3. Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until combined.
  4. Beat cream cheese with sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth, then tint orange.
  5. Spread most of brownie batter in a pan, top with spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture and remaining brownie batter, then swirl gently.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes or until set around the edges.
  7. Cool fully before slicing for clean edges.

Notes

Use gel coloring for the brightest orange. Chill before slicing for best results.
